CSSGen.dev
Generate CSS you can ship
CSSGen.dev is a free online CSS generator: 30 visual tools that turn sliders and colour pickers into production-ready CSS, previewed on real components and checked against browser support before you ship.
All 30 CSS generators
Shape & Borders
- Border Radius — Round each corner on its own, or switch to elliptical radii for organic blob shapes.
- Box Shadow — Stack up to three shadow layers, mix inset and outer shadows, and tune colour and opacity.
- Border, Outline & Border-image — Border styles, gradient frames through border-image, and an outline with offset for focus rings.
- Clip Path — Cut an element into polygons, circles, ellipses or rounded insets.
Color & Backgrounds
- Gradients — Linear, radial and conic gradients, repeating patterns and modern colour-space interpolation.
- Animated Gradient (@property) — Register a custom angle with @property so the browser can animate a conic gradient, for spinning borders and fills.
- CSS Patterns — Tile dots, grids, stripes, checkers and zigzags from gradients alone, with no image files.
- Modern Color Functions — oklch(), color-mix(), relative colour syntax and light-dark(), with an sRGB hex fallback where it applies.
Layout
- Flexbox — Direction, wrapping, alignment and gap, plus per-item grow, align-self and order.
- CSS Grid — Define tracks, gaps, alignment and auto-placement, then make one item span rows and columns.
- Multi-column Layout — Flow text into balanced newspaper columns with rules, gaps and a spanning heading.
- Scroll Snap — Make carousels and galleries lock to each slide. Swipe or scroll the preview to feel it.
- Container Queries — Style a component by the width of its own container instead of the viewport.
- Aspect Ratio & Object Fit — Hold a box to a ratio, then choose how the image fills it. The dashed frame marks the original edges.
Text & Fonts
- Text Shadow — Layer text shadows for long shadows, embossed letterpress or neon glow.
- Typography — Size, spacing, decoration, text-wrap and text-stroke for any text block.
- Variable Fonts — Drive weight, width and optical size from one font file. The preview uses Bricolage Grotesque.
- Gradient Text — Fill letters with a gradient using background-clip: text, with an optional shimmer animation.
Effects
- Filter — Combine blur, colour adjustments and drop-shadow on any element. Defaults are left out of the output.
- Glassmorphism — Frosted glass with backdrop-filter. Blur and saturation act on whatever sits behind the card.
- Neumorphism — Soft extruded or pressed surfaces from two opposing shadows tinted off the base colour.
- Blend Modes — Blend stacked backgrounds with background-blend-mode, or blend an element into what is behind it with mix-blend-mode.
- CSS Mask — Fade, spotlight or pattern an element away with gradient masks. Opaque pixels show, transparent pixels hide.
Images & Media
- Placeholder Image — Make a dummy image at any size for layouts and prototypes. Generated in the browser, so it works offline. Copy it as an img tag, SVG, data URI, CSS background or PNG.
Transforms & Motion
- Transform 2D & 3D — Translate, rotate, scale and skew in 2D or 3D, with perspective and the newer individual transform properties.
- Transition — Tune duration, delay and easing, including cubic-bezier curves and spring or bounce easing with linear().
- Keyframe Animation — Pick a ready-made @keyframes set and tune timing, repeat, direction and fill mode.
- Scroll-driven Animation — Link an animation to scroll position with animation-timeline. Scroll the preview to see it run.
- Motion Path — Move an element along an SVG path with offset-path and animate offset-distance.
UI & Interaction
- Form Controls & Scrollbars — accent-color, caret-color, color-scheme, ::selection, ::placeholder, scrollbar styling and textarea behaviour.
Frequently asked questions
What is CSSGen.dev?
CSSGen.dev is a free online CSS generator with 30 visual tools for modern CSS. You adjust a property with sliders and colour pickers, watch the result on a real component such as a card, button or photo, and copy production-ready CSS. Every generator also shows which browsers support the feature.
Is CSSGen.dev free to use?
Yes. CSSGen.dev is free for personal and commercial projects, with no account, no sign-up and Attribution required. The CSS it produces is yours to use in any project, including client work.
Does CSSGen.dev send my data anywhere?
No. Every generator runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type or tune is uploaded, and your saved presets and settings stay in your own browser's local storage.
Which CSS properties can I generate?
CSSGen.dev covers box shadow, text shadow, border radius, borders and outlines, gradients, animated gradients with @property, CSS patterns, filters, backdrop-filter glassmorphism, neumorphism, blend modes, clip-path, masks, transforms, transitions, keyframe animations, flexbox, CSS grid, multi-column layout, scroll snap, container queries, scroll-driven animations, aspect ratio, typography, variable fonts, gradient text, modern colour functions such as oklch() and color-mix(), motion paths, form control styling, and placeholder images.
Can I copy the code as SCSS, LESS or Tailwind?
Yes. Every generator offers five output formats: plain CSS, SCSS, LESS, CSS custom properties, and Tailwind arbitrary-value classes. SCSS and LESS hoist each value into a variable and nest hover states, and the Tailwind output uses real utility classes where one exists.
Will the generated CSS work in every browser?
Each generator shows a Baseline support status — widely available, newly available or limited support — along with the first supporting version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. A fallback option adds sRGB fallbacks before modern colour functions, and wraps newer features in @supports where a sensible fallback exists.
What is the Stack?
The Stack combines several generators onto one element. Add border radius, box shadow and a gradient as layers, tune each one, and copy a single merged CSS rule instead of pasting three separate blocks together by hand.
Can I use the generated CSS in commercial projects?
Yes. Anything CSSGen.dev generates is yours to use in commercial and client work with no licence, cost or credit required.
Workspace
The Stack
Put several generators on one element and copy a single rule. Each layer keeps the settings you gave it on its own page.
